Upright MRI® Dynamic Imaging Of Patients In Position That Pain Occurs Our practice has the first and only imaging center in the Charlotte region, and is one of only two centers in North and South Carolina, to now offer an open, multi-position, Upright MRI®. This revolutionary diagnostic tool makes it possible to conduct weight-bearing studies and obtain dynamic imaging of patients in flexion, extension, rotation and lateral bending positions not previously possible with traditional MRI. Full story Diagnosis & Treatment Of Scoliosis Scoliosis, the lateral curvature of the spine, affects 2% of women and 0.5% of men. This condition is often detected in children and adolescents during school physicals or routine checkups with their pediatricians. More than 80% of scoliosis cases are idiopathic, or have no known cause. Full story
Patient Case Study We Provided Straight Talk And Solutions For This Scoliosis Patient At the age of 62, Mary Ann was an active wife and mother. Yet over the course of 12 months, she developed chronic low back and left leg pain that became progressively worse. Her imaging studies demonstrated a significant degenerative scoliotic deformity involving her lumbar spine with multilevel severe stenosis. “My vertebra were like Legos,” said Mary Ann. “I couldn’t believe I had scoliosis.” Full story
